has been a member of the medical staff of Community Medical Center since 1984. He joined the department of Radiation Oncology as Chairman, a position he maintained from 1984 until 1996. In addition to his position at Community Medical Center, Dr. Chang is currently an associate of East Coast Radiation Oncology Associates, PA. (ECRO).
Board-certified in Therapeutic Radiology, Dr. Chang is a highly-skilled physician, dedicated to providing each one of his patients with the highest level of cancer care available.
Dr. Chang received his bachelor's degree at Yonsei
University in Seoul, Korea, in 1968. He continued
at the Yonsei University Medical College, graduating
with his medical degree in 1972. A committed and
determined physician, Dr. Chang joined the Korean
Air Force in 1972 and served as a Flight Surgeon
in the military for the next three years.
In 1975,
Dr. Chang resumed his clinical training, pursuing
an internship in Internal Medicine at the Berkshire
Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. It was there
that his interest in the radiologic treatment of
cancer patients began. He completed a residency
in Therapeutic Radiology at the Hospital of Albert
Einstein College of Medicine in New York, NY in
1979, followed by a fellowship in Therapeutic Radiology
at the prestigious Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center in New York, NY, in 1980.
This highly-respected
radiation oncologist joined the staff of Mercy
Hospital in Rockville Center, NY, as Chairman of
the Radiation Oncology Section of the Department
of Radiology, a position he held until joining
Community Medical Center in 1984.
A knowledgeable
and dynamic speaker, Dr. Chang was chosen to present
his clinical findings on the impact of high dose
rate brachytherapy in the treatment of uterine
cancer, at the 1999 Annual Retreat on Cancer Research.
Dr. Chang is a member of the American College
of Radiology, the American Society for Therapeutic
Radiology and Oncology, the American Society of
Clinical Oncology, the Radiological Society of
New Jersey, and the Ocean County Medical Society
of New Jersey.
As a member of the Radiation Oncology
Department at Community Medical Center, Dr.Chang,
like his peers, carefully evaluates his patients
and offers treatments for those patients with malignancies
or other radiation-treatable diseases.
