formerly of the prestigious Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, joined the medical staff of Community Medical Center's as an attending in the department of Radiation Oncology and an associate of East Coast Radiation Oncology Associates, PA. (ECRO) in July of 2001.
A board-certified Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Iyer brings the highest level of expertise in cancer treatment to every patient in his care. He has published articles and book chapters on a variety of issues, including breast, prostate, ovarian and esophageal cancer. He is an accomplished speaker and has presented his work at national meetings, including at Fox Chase Cancer Center and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. Dr. Iyer obtained his Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Electrical Engineering from Brown University, Providence, RI. He received his medical degree in 1996 from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his postgraduate training with an internship in Internal Medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington. Dr. Iyer completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, where he was named Chief Resident of Radiation Oncology in 2000. During this time, Dr. Iyer was involved in research activities including the evaluation of MRI simulation.
Dr. Iyer is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, and the American College of Radiology.
As a member of the Radiation Oncology Department at Community Medical Center, Dr. Iyer carefully evaluates and treats patients with malignancies or other radiation-treatable diseases.
